Who we are
MyanmarTrails is a travel discovery and itinerary planning service focused on Myanmar destinations. We provide recommendations and planning tools — we are not a booking platform or travel agency.
Information we collect
Account data. When you register, we store your name, email address, and a hashed password. If you use Google sign-in, we receive profile information from Google according to your Google account settings.
Saved places. When you are signed in, places you save are stored on our servers and linked to your account.
Browser storage. We also use local storage on your device for travel preferences, itinerary drafts, and (when signed in) a refresh token so you stay logged in. Details are listed on our Cookies & storage page.
Share links. Itinerary URLs may encode trip stops in the address bar. Anyone with the link can view those stops — treat shared URLs like a shared document.
How we use information
- Provide recommendations, saved places, and account features
- Secure the service and prevent abuse
- Improve the product based on aggregated usage patterns
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use third-party advertising profiles based on your saved places.
Hosting & logs
The site is hosted on modern cloud platforms (e.g. Vercel for the frontend, secure servers for the API). Those providers may process technical logs such as IP address, browser type, and request time for security and reliability. We have not enabled third-party marketing analytics at this time.
Your choices
- Sign out to end your session; clear browser site data to remove local preferences and tokens.
- Do not share itinerary URLs if you want stops to stay private.
- Contact us to request account deletion (we will remove account data subject to legal retention requirements).
Children
MyanmarTrails is intended for adults planning travel. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.
Changes & contact
We may update this policy as features change. Material updates will be reflected on this page with a new “last updated” date.
