About this destination
Mount Victoria — Khaw Nu Soum in Chin — rises to over 3,000 metres in a national park known for rhododendron forests, cloud forest, and some of the wildest trekking in Myanmar. The mountain sits at the heart of Chin State's biodiverse highlands, where hornbills, langurs, and seasonal wildflower displays reward patient hikers.
Trails pass through Kanpetlet and nearby villages where Chin weaving traditions and Christian church life shape the highland calendar. The same cultural depth that defines Chin State — distinct languages, textile artistry, and a history largely separate from the Bamar heartland — is visible in daily life along the approach routes.
This is expedition pacing: cooler nights, basic lodging, and routes best tackled in the dry season from November to March. Pair with Mindat for a fuller Chin highlands loop.
